About Hayder
Hayder Shkara is the principal of Melbourne Family Lawyers and the founder of Justice Family Lawyers. Alongside running family law practices, he is also passionate about making high-quality legal services accessible to everyday Australians.
Hayder has produced hundreds of written articles covering a wide range of family law topics. His content tackles the issues people often search for when they feel uncertain or overwhelmed, from property settlements and divorce to parenting arrangements, consent orders, and binding financial agreements. The goal is always the same: to make complex legal concepts easier to understand, and to give people a clearer sense of what their options may look like.
His work goes beyond written resources. Hayder also shares helpful insights through videos, podcasts, and other media, offering straightforward commentary on family law issues and common questions. Through his YouTube channel, Hayder Legal, he breaks down legal topics into bite-sized explanations that feel less intimidating and more actionable, especially for people dealing with separation, uncertainty, or high-stress family changes.
As a lawyer, Hayder brings broad experience across family law matters. He is known as a strong communicator and is equally effective when guiding clients through emotionally charged situations.
Hayder holds a double degree from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism), which supports his ability to explain legal concepts with clarity and structure, whether he is writing, speaking on a podcast, or presenting to the camera.
Before becoming a lawyer, Hayder competed in Taekwondo for Australia at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics (Rio 2016). That same discipline, focus, and work ethic still shape how he practices law and makes content.
Hayder's Way of Writing
Clear without the technical language: He concentrates on elucidations that facilitate comprehension of the rationale underlying the legal process.
Real-world, client-centered topics: His articles and videos are based on the real questions people have when they are going through a divorce, a fight over parenting, or dividing up property.
Learning with a goal: The goal is not just to give you information, but also to make you feel more confident so you can move forward with a clearer mind and more realistic expectations.
Hayder likes to play soccer with friends and coach sports on the weekends when he’s not working on client cases or making legal content.
